It was a close call for Doug Horwarth who had been asleep when Sherriff's Deputy Nicolai Ramos came banging on his door to alert him that the Willow Fire was approaching his house.
Howarth managed to run back upstairs to get his keys, wallet, and phone before a flame burst through one of his windows. As he drove away, Howarth saw his home of 33 years burn down.
Grateful that he still had his life, Howarth wanted to thank the man that saved him, but he didn't know who the officer was.
Thanks to 10 News, they were able to find Deputy Ramos and made a reunion happen. Watch the touching moment above.
The Howarth's have a GoFundMe campaign set up to help recoup what they've lost.
