The Padres lost to the Guardians 6-1 on Saturday afternoon, as the offense was stifled by Joey Cantillo and company. San Diego was held to just one hit, and scored their lone run when Manny Machado grounded into a double play with runners on the corners and no outs in the 1st inning. Wandy Peralta was used as an opener, and was followed in the second inning by Kyle Hart, and each of them allowed one earned run, before Randy Vasquez entered the game to pitch in bulk. Vasquez allwed 4 runs on 7 hits in 5 innings of work, as the Padres lost 6-game winning streak came to an end. Casey Mize is slated to start on Sunday.
