Texans standout WR Nico Collins misses practice with hip, foot injuries

As if the Texans were not dealing with enough injuries going into their Week 3 road matchup against the Minnesota Vikings, standout wide receiver Nico Collins missed Wednesday's practice with hip and foot injuries.

Collins has been the Texans' (2-0) top receiver in their first two games of the season. He went for 135 yards and a touchdown on eight catches in their 19-13 win Sunday against the Chicago Bears. He led Houston with 117 receiving yards on six catches, including some key plays on third down, in Week 1 against the Indianapolis Colts.

It was not clear Wednesday the extent of Collins' injuries, but it's obvious that losing or having a limited version of him would be a blow to the Texans' offense.

The Texans are already on their third string center with injuries to Juice Scruggs (groin) and Jarrett Patterson (calf). Houston's top two running backs, Joe Mixon (ankle) and Dameon Pierce (hamstring) also missed Wednesday's practice. They put backup tight end Brevin Jordan on the injured reserve list with what appears to be a season-ending knee injury.
