Clemson Basketball got a marquee win at home Tuesday night, knocking off a top 5 ranked opponent. Clemson clipped #4 Kentucky 70-66 getting their biggest win of the season, thus far.
After a back and forth first 16 minutes, Clemson closed the 1st half on a 7-2 run. The Tigers took a 37-30 lead into the halftime locker room.
The 2nd half would see a see-saw battle and lead changes until the final 5 minutes. Clemson extended their lead late and held Kentucky to just one made field goal in the final 3 and 1/2 minutes.
Tiger standout Chase Hunter went 4 for 4 from the foul line in the final 25 seconds to seal the win. The Tigers had 4 players in double figures including Ian Schieffelin who had 11 points and a game high 20 rebounds.
Clemson is now 8-1 on the season, they open ACC play this Saturday at Miami.
