
It was a heartbreaking, hard fought loss for Furman Football over the weekend. In a game heard on The Fan Upstate to in-state adversary Presbyterian 39-38 in overtime 39-38 in overtime at Paladin Stadium, Saturday.
Both teams traded touchdowns in the opening quarter to make it 7-7 after one. A 21-7 second quarter gave a Furman 28-14 lead at the half. After the break, Furman added a Field Goal to take their largest lead of the day at 31-14.
Presbyterian responded by scoring 17 unanswered points to tie the game at 31 late in the 4th. The game went to overtime and Furman scored a TD on their possession to make it 38-31. PC then answered with a TD of their own. They then went for two and got it to win the game, 39-38.
The Paladins are 1-1 they'll be back in action Saturday at Campbell. That game is set for a 3:30 kickoff. Furman Football plays all season long on The Fan Upstate.
