It'll be a special Friday night lights edition of Furman football this week, as the Paladins look to advance in the FCS playoffs. The Paladins cruised to a 26-7 win over Chattanooga in Greenville this past Saturday, in the 2nd round of the FCS Playoffs.
Furman is the #7 national seed and will now go on the road to take on 2nd ranked Montana on Friday night. The homestanding Grizzlies are 11-1 on the year and have won 9 straight coming in. They dismantled Delaware 49-19 in their playoff opener.
It's Furman's longest road trip of the year, as they'll travel over 2,000 miles to the Western Montana town of Missoula. However, they may avoid the typical frigid December weather there. Temps are expected to be in the low 30's around kickoff, which is considered warm for that area, this time of the year.
The Paladins and Grizzles will meet for a spot in the National Semifinals, Friday night. Pregame coverage starts at 730 PM, kickoff at 9PM on The Fan Upstate.
