While Furman Football has struggled most of this season, Saturday served as a bright spot. The Paladin defense stood strong in the 4th quarter shutting East Tennessee State out for the final 18 minutes of the game.
Furman trailed 21-14 with 6 minutes left in the 3rd. The Paladins scored on a 91 yard Touchdown drive to tie the game at 21 late in the 3rd.
An interception by the Furman defense set up a short field and the Paladins got a 21 yard Field Goal to lead 24-21 with 9 minutes left.
Furman's defense then forced a 3 and out. The offense got the ball back and salted the clock away with a drive of over 7 minutes to win 24-21.
The win is just the 3rd of the season for Furman. They'll close the season at Mercer this Saturday for a 3PM kickoff, you can hear all the action on The Fan Upstate.
