The quarterback position for the Rebels in 2020 was a revolving door with the duo of Gabe Rogers & Brayden Blackmon commanding the offense. This year, it's Gabe's show. The senior QB knows that the team expects him to lead in 2021 and is up for the challenge. Having a full off-season of 7 on 7's & scrimmages helped Rogers tremendously in preparation for the 2021 campaign. "It isn't even a comparison in where I am this year going into the season compared to where I was last year", Rogers says Saturday before the Mcdonalds Kickoff Classic. Reggie Shaw, HC of the Rebels has faith that Gabe Rogers can lead the Rebels to the promised land in 2021. "Gabe has had an exceptional off-season. He is right where we want him to be going into the season." Also to note, Rogers has a new play caller by his side this year as Robert Hellams was named the new offensive coordinator for the Rebels back in the spring. Hellams comes to the Rebels from Mallard Creek HS. When asked about his new OC, Rogers was full of positivity. "I feel so much better about our offense this year. We have a full playbook of plays and we really have something to prove."
Rogers & the Rebels open up the 2021 season on August 20th as they travel to Greer for the season opener.
