An Upstate mall prepares for a weekend brawl, but not what you might expect. The Upstate has a rich history when it comes to professional wrestling and one group looks to keep that tradition alive.
This Friday May 15th, Universal Championship Wrestling will present "Hometown Throwdown" at the Anderson Mall. Both legends of the ring and current stars are set to be on hand. Those scheduled to appear include WWE Hall Of Famer, Half of the Rock-N-Roll Express Ricky Morton, his son and current NWA Star Kerry Morton.
Also, set to appear include former WCW star and NWO Member Buff Bagwell. Brock Anderson, the son of legendary wrestler Arn Anderson is set to team with ECW Original C.W. Anderson, as the Anderson name lives on in pro wrestling, in 2026.
Another, star from the NWA Alex Taylor is set to appear along with Western North Carolina's own Chase Emery, a former DI college wrestler turned pro standout. Many other names from around the pro wrestling world are set to appear. Rob Jones from our sibling station WORD, will serve as the special guest ring announcer
