The University of North Carolina football program has made a splash hiring one of the all-time great NFL Coaches as their new Head Coach. 8 Time Super Bowl Champion Bill Belichick will be coming to "Tobacco Road" to replace Mack Brown in Chapel Hill.
Belichick has never coached in college, he did lead the Patriots to 6 Super Bowl Titles as Head Coach. He also won Super Bowl Rings with the NY Giants as an Assistant Coach.
Belichik's only real tie to North Carolina seems to be that his father was an Assistant Coach there and the family lived in the Chapel Hill area during those years.
Reports say that Belichik will be paid around 10 million per year at Chapel Hill. Belichik is 72 years old, just a year younger than the man he replaces.
Belichik's debut at UNC is set for Aug. 30th of 2025, when The Tar Heels host TCU. He is set to become the oldest Head Coach to make his NCAA D-I debut without previous college coaching experience.
