After spending almost 10 years at Landrum High School as Athletic Director, Mike Gentry has returned to the sideline to reunite with his ole’ pal, Mark Hodge. Gentry will be coaching Quarterbacks at Spartanburg beginning in the fall of 2024. Even though this is Gentry’s first stint at Spartanburg, this is not new territory for the former offensive coordinator. Before his tenure began as Athletic Director at Landrum, Gentry spent time at Chapman High School with Mark Hodge as well as a few years on the offensive staff at Landrum.
“A lot of people don’t know this but Mike was basically the co-founder of the refined program that I have brought to Spartanburg”, says Mark Hodge. “He is a dear friend of mine and will bring professionalism, maturity, and stability to this program.”
Mike Gentry will finish the remainder of the school year at Landrum before entering his new role at Spartanburg.
