(610 Sports) -- As Patrick Mahomes and the Kansas City Chiefs prepare for their second Super Bowl in as many years, Mahomes reflects on his relationship with Chiefs fans, who have embraced the quarterback in a special way, a relationship that's anything but one-sided. Mahomes shared with us what makes that relationship so special for him and his family.
As he does every Monday during the NFL season, Patrick Mahomes joined Carrington Harrison and Sean Levine of 'The Drive,' and Mahomes was asked this particular question, in regards to his rabid fanbase.
"So what's it like for Patrick Mahomes with the fans of Kansas City?"
"Yeah, I mean it's a special relationship," Mahomes replied. "The pride that they have, the loyalty that they have, the passion that they have for the Chiefs, are my core values. The things I truly believe in, being loyal to each other, showing love, showing passion, I feel like the Chiefs Kingdom embraces all of the things I've embraced my whole career."
Having already captured the regular-season MVP, Super Bowl MVP, Super Bowl Champion trifecta, Mahomes has set his career arc above anything this city could have expected. Chiefs fans, in turn, have thrown their full weight behind the 4th year quarterback and his 15 and the Mahomies Foundation, they've flooded the city in red during the Chiefs Super Bowl parade, and made Arrowhead Stadium the toughest place for opponents to play, in the NFL.
