It's State Championship Weekend at Benedict College in Columbia for High School Football programs from around the state. The weekend kicked off last night, with Powdersville falling 41-31 to Beaufort in the 3A State Title Game. Powdersville jumped out to a 14-0 in the 1st quarter and led at the half. However, Beaufort has been a 2nd half team all year and proved to be that again Thursday night.

While the season didn't end exactly as they wanted, the Patriot program made history this year winning their 1st ever Upper State Championship and playing for the State Title for the 1st time.
The game featured a match up of electrifying athletes at the RB spot. Powdersville's Thomas Williams had 236 yards and 3 Rushing scores in his final high school game, he has committed to play at Virginia Tech next year. Beaufort RB Kacy Fields, had a field day with over 300 total yards and 4 Touchdowns.
Powdersville finishes with a record 13-2 which is the most single season wins in program history. Patriot Coach Robert Mustar is set to join this weekend's Saturday Morning Scramble to recap the best season in the program's history.
