South Carolina clamped down defensively allowing Texas just 22 2nd half points. That propelled the Gamecocks to a 74-57 win. They led just 38-35 at the half. They held Texas to just 9 points in the 3rd and scored 20 to take control of the game.
South Carolina took a 58-44 lead into the 4th quarter. They would maintain and led by as many 20 points in the 4th. The Gamecocks held Texas to under 40% shooting from the floor.
Three Gamecock players were in double figures. Te-Hina Paopao led the way with a team high 14. Midlands native Joyce Edwards added 13 off the bench and Bree Hall had 11. Jordan Lee led Texas with a game high 16 off the bench.
This is South Carolina's 5th straight trip to the Final Four. They'll take on Uconn Sunday at 3PM for the National Title. SC is looking for back-to-back National Titles and their 3rd in 4 years. They are 3-0 all time in National Title games under Dawn Staley.
