The Upstate's newest minor league baseball team was a winner in the franchise's 1st ever series. The Hub City Spartanburgers took two out of three games from the Aberdeen Ironbirds in Maryland, over the weekend.
Hub City won the team's inaugural game 4-3 on Friday. They dropped the 2nd game 3-1 on Saturday. They then took game 3 Sunday by a score of 7-5. The Spartanburgers had 11 total hits in the game, 1st baseman Cal Stark accounted for three of those himself.
Hub City will be on the road this week to take on the Wilmington Blue Rocks in Delaware, in a 6 game series. The Spartanburgers will play their 1st regular season game at the brand new Fifth Third Park in Spartanburg, April 15th.
