Clemson made a valiant 2nd half effort after being down double digits at the half. The Tigers couldn't overcome a slow start and cold shooting from three point range, falling at Georgia Tech 69-64. Clemson scored just 20 points in the 1st half, their lowest 1st half output in ACC play this season. Clemson played without Hunter Tyson who suffered a broken clavicle just days ago, in the win over FSU.
Georgia Tech capitalized on Clemson's sluggish opening half and led 33-20 at the break. Clemson shot 41% from the floor and 90% from the free throw line. However, they went just 6 of 24 on the game from 3 point land. Conversely, Georgia Tech shot 40% from the floor and 40% from deep.
That really was the difference in the game, as both teams were even on the offensive glass. Also, both teams turned the ball over 18 times a piece. Georgia Tech's ball movement was a touch better, assisting on 18 of their 25 made shots in the game.
The Yellow Jackets had 3 players in double figures. Devion Smith had a team high 16 points and 8 rebounds, Jordan Usher had 14 and Miles Kelly added 10.
