With 18 games remaining before the MLB All-Star break, the Atlanta Braves find themselves with a 36-41 record, holding the third-place position in the National League East standings and even with the returns of Ronald Acuna Jr. and Spencer Strider, continue to struggle to find some consistency to help get back above .500, which they have only done once this season.

On Tuesday, 92-9 The Game’s Carl Dukes and Mike Bell were joined by Audacy, MLB Insider, Tony Gwynn Jr., to discuss the Braves struggles despite the return of their two All-Stars in Acuna Jr. and Strider and why he believes the return of Jurickson Profar could be the spark needed to help the Braves get on track.

“I think Jurickson, despite his suspension, has been, at least when he was in San Diego, has been a productive player every single time he was on the field,” Gwynn Jr. said as he explained why he believes the Braves’ outfielder, who they acquired back in January, will be able to hit the ground running and possibly give Atlanta a much-needed boost.

“You get a player like Jurickson, I can tell you one thing, you’re going to get a dude who has some fire,” Gwynn Jr. said of Profar and the “energy” he may bring which he believes other Braves’ players can “gravitate to” to help revive the offense.

“He can bring the type of energy that can kind of get a team rolling in the right direction because we all know that the Braves are as talented as any team in the league. Sometimes you need a little kick in the rear end and some energy to come in and hopefully Jurickson can provide that.,” Gwynn Jr. added.
