Two area college basketball coaches are contenders for a national award. USC Upstate Coach Dave Dickerson and Wofford's Jay McCauley have been named finalists by College Insider for the Skip Prosser Man Of The Year Award.
Prosser died in 2007 after suffering a heart attack, while he was the Head Coach at Wake Forest. He averaged over 20 wins per season at Wake Forest and won over 290 games in his head coaching career.
Other notable candidates for the award include North Carolina's Hubert Davis, Mike Brey of Notre Dame, Chris Beard from Texas, Shaheen Holloway of St. Peter's and newly hired LSU Coach Matt Mcmahon.
