After hearing the loud “Let’s go Knicks” chants in Charlotte on Monday night, Keith couldn’t help but wonder why the Hornets weren’t put on blast like the Nets were when Knicks fans invaded their building just a week ago.
“I laughed watching the end of that Knicks game,” Keith McPherson said on WFAN. “As a Nets fan, I’m like, how come y’all not bragging about taking over the Spectrum Center? Barclays Center it’s ‘Oh man, they should relocate the team! Can’t believe you took the train 30 minutes to take over Barclays!’ The Spectrum Center down there in North Carolina, that’s 625 miles away! It was all Knicks fans.”
The overwhelming number of Knicks fans in Brooklyn was a major talking point the next day, a piece of evidence for fans to clamor about the new low the Nets franchise had hit. So, why not the same for the Hornets? That’s what Keith wanted to know after New York dominated them on the court, and in the stands.
“But I guess you guys don’t care about the Hornets,” Keith said.
