(670 The Score) In an entertaining segment on the Parkins & Spiegel Show on Wednesday, we had 14 Score hosts and producers band together to conduct a home run draft as MLB Opening Day looms Thursday.
The premise was simple – pick a pair of sluggers in a two-round snake draft and the winner is whoever's duo hits the most combined home runs in the 2021 regular season. That winner earns eternal respect in the Score offices and $500 from program Mitch Rosen to donate to his or her favorite charity. Take a look at the results below, starting with Dan Bernstein holding the No. 1 pick in the draft.
Dan Bernstein: Mike Trout, Miguel Sano
Joe Ostrowski: Ronald Acuna Jr., Matt Chapman
Herb Lawrence: Pete Alonso, Christian Yelich
Les Grobstein: Jose Abreu, Nolan Arenado
Danny Parkins: Juan Soto, Trevor Story
Chris Tannehill: Aaron Judge, Yordan Alvarez
David Haugh: Manny Machado, Freddie Freeman
Rey Diaz: Joey Gallo, Matt Olson
Dustin Rhoades: Fernando Tatis Jr., Kyle Schwarber
Leila Rahimi/Adam Studzinski: Eugenio Suaraz, Bryce Harper

And here's some priceless commentary during it:
"By my numbers, I have the best team," Bernstein said.
"2020 doesn't count," Lawrence said of Yelich's poor season. "Just give me the money."
"Because of the ballark he plays in, balls still fly out of Guaranteed Rate Field," Grobstein said of Abreu.
"Yikes," Riordan said of Zawaski's selection of Pederson. "In the first round?"
