Reports: Sox Add Santana On Minor League Deal

(670 The Score) The White Sox have agreed to a minor league deal with right-hander Ervin Santana, according to reports.

Santana, 36, will join the White Sox in camp and compete for a roster spot. He has a career 4.06 ERA in 14 big league seasons.

Santana was limited to five starts with the Twins in 2018 because of finger surgery and other injuries. He had an 8.03 ERA in 24 2/3 innings.

In 2017, Santana was an All-Star and went 16-8 with a 3.28 ERA and 1.13 WHIP.

The White Sox's No. 5 rotation spot is still somewhat in flux, though right-hander Dylan Covey appears to have the inside track to nab it.

Barstool Sports first reported news of Santana's agreement with the White Sox.
