A former Upstate Deputy is accused of breaking into a home and sexually assaulting a victim in 2024. SLED says 35 year old, Scott Helton is charged with burglary and 1st degree criminal sexual conduct. Helton is a former Anderson County Sheriff's Office deputy, who was terminated in 2022.
Arrest warrants say, Helton broke into a home in Belton and sexually assaulted a woman there in the Summer of 2024. He was arrested last week and SLED was called into investigate due to Helton being a former deputy.
