An Upstate police officer is on leave amidst at least one criminal investigation. The Gaffney Police Department says, they are aware of complaints against Major Brian Blanton that were submitted by the Cherokee County Sheriff's Office.
Major Blanton has been on leave since filing to run for Sheriff in Cherokee County, earlier this year. The Gaffney PD would not specify on the exact nature of the investigation. The complaints are being reviewed by "outside law enforcement agencies"
