A major Upstate healthcare system has confirmed that data was stolen during a cyber attack, last month. Officials at Anmed say, they are working to determine exactly what data was involved.
Anmed's CEO posted social media video addressing the attack and provided an update. Anmed says it will notify anyone who was directly affected by the data breach. Messages from a hacker group claiming they carried out the attack was posted to Anmed's Facebook Page earlier this month.
The group of cybercriminals calls themselves the Gentlemen. They claimed to have stolen private patient data from Anmed and demanded to be paid a ransom not to release it.
