AutoNSider Review | 2019 Lexus LS 500 F Sport

Remember those first Lexus LS to hit our shores 30 years ago? The rather chunky and upright ones that resembled the Mercedes E Class of the day?
Well forget about it.
Today’s 5th generation Lexus LS resembles the original about as much as today’s dot. com wonder-kid resembles great great gramps with his stiff collared starched shirt, three-piece suit and gold pocket watch.
Which is just another way to say that today’s sleek, sexy, muscular Lexus LS stands proudly on its own 19 or 20” alloys…and has no need nor any intention to look like anything else on the road.
So…the LS 500 is the “King Daddy” of Lexus sedans. Four doors…poise and power…library-quiet…a big trunk and all the legroom you and your guests could ever want…and more.
More? Yes. Just about every accoutrement and luxury that you could ever want…or imagine.
Let’s start with a 3.5 liter twin-turbo six putting out 416 HP through a 10-speed automatic. Thanks to those 10 speeds and the LS’ aerodynamics, that translates to 0-60 in just over four and a half seconds and 30 MPG on the road.
Now…for that “more”. Sunroof…12-speaker sound…voice command…Apple Car Play…wood trim…heated leather…and all the electronic assists that you’d expect.
You get all that for a window-sticker price just over $82,000.
Then hit the options list.
