Congratulations are in order for metro Atlanta's own Stephon Castle on being named the NBA's 2024 - 2025's Rookie of The Year!
Castle grew up in Covington, Georgia and is a graduate of Newton High School. He finished out his senior year averaging 20.1 points, 9.5 rebounds, 4.8 assists, three steals and two blocks per game to carry the Newton Rams to the Class 7A state quarterfinals. Castle was also selected to play in the 2023 McDonald's All-American Boys Game during his senior year. His high school success led to him enrolling at UConn June of 2023, where he helped lead the UConn Huskies to win the 2024 NCAA National Championship.
Castle, who plays for the San Antonio Spurs received 92 of the first-place Rookie of the Year votes, while Zaccharie Risacher of the Atlanta Hawks earned five first-place votes, and the Grizzlies' Jaylen Wells got the other three.
This season, Castle averaged 14.7 points, 4.1 assists and 3.7 rebounds for San Antonio. Congratulations again to Stephon Castle, you 2024-2025 NBA Rookie of the Year!
