Political activist, Tamika Mallory sat down with The Big Tigger Morning Show to talk about the horrific and untimely death of 29-year-old Tyre Nichols at the hands of five Memphis police officers during a traffic stop.

The question raised, "are we really making progress?," Mallory added that while there has been some small progress made, "we're still dealing with a major issue around police accountability in this country," she said.

"This is an ongoing situation," she added, noting that there are a plethora of fatal situations with police that we are more times than not, not aware of.

But touching on the small feets of progress that have been made, she sights the development and the fight for body camera footage. Remembering the late Rodney King and Eric Garner where these situations were only brought to light through civilian footage. Had there not been someone there to capture these crimes, they would have been swiped under the rug like many others.

"The video footage that we see now is so instrumental... This is something that we fought for to get the body cams," she said.

"Our movement can't surround one case," she responded to those who question what exactly is the movement's "demand."
