The mother of legendary rapper, Biggie Smalls has passed away. Monroe County Coroner Thomas Yanac confirmed the news on Friday morning. She died of natural caused in Stroudsburg, Pennsylvania where she was in hospice care.
Not only was Wallace the mother of one of the most poignant rappers of our time, but she became a hip hop legend in her own right.
After Biggie's tragic death in 1997, she worked tirelessly to ensure that his legacy lived on. She oversaw and grew his estate, which was estimated to be worth about $10 million when he died, to an estimated $160.
Angela Basset also portrayed her in the hit movie, "Notorious," back in 2009. Voletta Wallace was 72- year-old.
