The Atlanta Falcons are desperate for a win after the Bucs took a one-game lead in the NFC South with a victory in Germany. And what many felt would be an easy game at home against Chicago no longer looks that way because of the way Justin Fields is playing.
Atlanta Falcons analyst Dave Archer discussed the growth of the Chicago Bears quarterback in recent weeks and what the Falcons need to do to limit Fields and give themselves their best chance to win.
"It looks like they freed him up a little bit to go ahead and take off," the former Falcons quarterback said. "He's figured out how teams are trying to rush him and get after him.
"You've got make sure sure he doesn't get out of pocket. He's not looking to run for a first down, he's looking to take it to the house. You cannot allow him to have explosives in the run game. I think it's just him settling in and he's starting to get an idea what he can get away with, a growing process for a QB and it looks like he's doing that."
The Falcons aren't scoring the way they did earlier in the season. They've been held to 17 or fewer points in four of the last six games, while the Bears offense is starting to click. Chicago is currently on a run of scoring 29 or more points in four straight games.
A week after having a 61-yard touchdown run against the Dolphins, Fields continued his impressive display with a 67-yard run to the house.
