June 19th marks the celebration of "Juneteenth" where slaves in all states became officially free in the United States. Ahead Juneteenth weekend, Congresswoman Williams is pushing to abolish the amendment allowing for those considered slaves due to "a punishment for crime." This means those in prison are enslaved. There are nearly two million people behind bars and many are disproportionately Black and are legally still enslaved.
