Reports continue to swirl around the league that ties the Atlanta Falcons and former New England Patriots head coach, Bill Belichick. After a one-on-one with Arthur Blank, he is coming back to Atlanta for a second interview with the rest of the front office.
The Steakhouse sees it as a foregone conclusion that the legendary head coach will be in Atlanta this time next year.
"They're doing their due diligence, but it's likely Bill Belichick, and I think it's already done," Sandra said. "Am I going to be okay with Bill Belichick? Absolutely. Because I'm a die-hard Falcon who's been here for 27 years."
To her, the next question is who the team will target to be the quarterback and who will be calling the plays for him.
"Objectively, do you think he could come here and this team could be worse than what it was last year?" Zinno rhetorically asked Sandra in agreement. "They absolutely will not be worse with Belichick."
An interesting thing of note is the status of defensive coordinator, Ryan Nielsen. Initially, the Falcons were blocking other teams from interviewing the prominent defensive mind. In comes Bill Belichick for an interview, and now the team has reversed course.
That's not a coincidence.
Bill Belichick is an elite defensive mind and would clearly come in and run the defense wherever he goes. With Nielsen being allowed to move, the writing is on the wall.
"Don't you think it's done?" Sandra asked Zinno.
"It's done," he answered.
