Mase cleared the air just a few days after its release on Monday. "When I see the hurt and the pains of other people on Bad Boy that motivates me to say something so I don’t be deemed as a person who just made a bunch of money and turned a blind eye," the Harlem rapper said on Instagram live Thursday, according to Hip Hop DX.

"I’m not gonna be like the rest of the people around Puff that don’t tell him he’s wrong. I’m not gonna be like the yes men around him that see him ruining people’s lives and never tell him he’s wrong," he added. Mase also addressed the new track on the social media platform Clubhouse. "I think I’ve handled it the way it should’ve been handled," said Mase.

Although Mase didn’t mention Diddy’s name specifically on "Oracle 2," it was pretty evident that the song was directed at the Bad Boy frontman. "Yeah, I’m just a Harlem n**** reppin’ down a Vegas strip with my own Suge. You from Mt. Vernon, n****, go and rep your own hood. I’m not hating on your Billi worth. Right now, I’m only saying what you really worth. You ain’t no architect. You just a n*** who know how to market death," Mase rhymed on the track.

Mase was signed to Diddy’s Bad Boy Records in the 90s along with The Notorious B.I.G., Craig Mack, Faith Evans and Total. The two label mates previously had a legal dispute regarding Mase’s publishing in 2020.
