The decision about Falcons kicker shouldn’t be a hard one

Often players and coaches will tell you that games never come down to just one play, but fans almost always feel differently. Despite offseason questions about Falcons Kicker Younghoe Koo's ability to rebound from a rough season a year ago, the team decided to keep him and in his first opportunity for a clutch kick, he missed a 44-yarder that would have sent the game in to overtime.

"The miss isn't consistent. If you have something in your mechanics you can plan for that. Right now it's all over the place, he has no idea where it's going, and it makes an already unconfident kicker even more unconfident," says Andy Bunker. "If it's me, I got to make a change. After what last year was and then yesterday, you gave him the benefit of the doubt, chalk it up to injury, now you can't. Over the last two seasons his percentage from 40-49 (yards) is unacceptable for the NFL right now, in this day and age, those are high percentage field goals."

"You gotta make a decision on the guy who kicks the ball. It should be an easy (decision)," says Randy McMichael. "You don't have kicking competitions when the season starts. Do you have faith in (Lenny) Krieg to come in and be the guy? If you're going to bring somebody in, he's going to have to be the kicker."
