(WBBM NEWSRADIO) -- A Carol Stream man faces a slew of charges after police say he led them on a drunken high-speed chase this weekend.
Alvin Thompson Jr. faces aggravated DUI fleeing and eluding resisting arrest and other charges. Prosecutors say the 43-year-old drove off after Carol Stream police responded to a call Sunday night of a man threatening someone with a gun.
An officer tried to pull Thompson over and prosecutors say he drove off going as fast as 75 miles an hour before blowing a red light and hitting a car then running away. Police said after they arrested him, they found a loaded gun on the dashboard and a smell of alcohol on his breath.
A passenger in the car he allegedly hit went to the hospital with serious injuries.
