(AUDACY) As more and more Americans continue to get vaccinated, it's looking promising for NFL fans who are hoping to attend games again in 2021.
NFL commissioner Roger Goodell expects to have “full stadiums in the coming season," he said while speaking to reporters amid the owners meetings Tuesday.
“We want to see every one of our fans back,” Goodell said, per Adam Schefter of ESPN.
Most NFL teams didn't allow fans to attend games in 2020 amid the coronavirus pandemic, while others allowed a limited capacity. As the season went on, some teams and states began easing restrictions or allowed fans to attend playoff games, such as the Buffalo Bills.
Meanwhile, in other sports such as baseball and basketball, teams are beginning to allow fans back and increase capacity limits. Only the Texas Rangers, whose stadium hosted fans during the World Series, have given the green light for full capacity for Opening Day.
The NFL has time working to its advantage with Week 1 of the regular season still five months away. The league is planning to have fans and prospects in attendance for the NFL Draft in Cleveland at the end of April, another step back toward normalcy.
