(670 The Score) The White Sox have avoided arbitration with right-hander Lucas Giolito and right-hander Reynaldo Lopez by settling on salary figures for the 2021 season, the team announced Friday.
Giolito will earn $4.15 million, while Lopez will earn $2.1 million in the upcoming campaign.
Giolito, 26, is coming off another strong season, posting a 3.48 ERA and 1.04 WHIP in 12 starts in 2020, when he threw his first career no-hitter and finished seventh in the American League Cy Young voting. Giolito was an All-Star in 2019, when he also finished sixth in the Cy Young race.
Lopez, 27, struggled in 2020, posting a 6.49 ERA and 1.63 WHIP in eight starts.
