There was a significant jump in local gas prices this week. The AAA reports that the average price for a gallon of unleaded in the Buffalo-Niagara Falls metro area increased seven cents this week, to $2.33.
Sonwil Distribution Co.'s warehouse project at the Buffalo Lakeside Commerce Park gets more scrutiny from the Buffalo Planning Board today. Business First reports the single story building will cover 329,405 square feet, with a majority of that used as a warehouse/distribution center for an undisclosed client. The Buffalo Urban Development Corp. has already approved the project.
In response to the challenges facing local students during the pandemic, M&T has awarded $180,000 to Buffalo Prep, which provides educational support services to students in need. This funding will boost Buffalo Prep's new Student Success Center that provides additional one-on-one academic support and intervention, a proven model to assist students during periods of disruption.
Beechwood Homes has been awarded a $30,000 grant from the Odd Fellows Rebekah Benefit Fund. The grant will be used for staff training including training related to its newly created senior service care model.
