In a $7.75 million deal, the Town of Amherst closed this week on the purchase of the former Westwood Country Club. Business First reports the deal with Mensch Capital Partners includes 772 North Forest Road and two adjacent parcels. Supervisor Brian Kulpa has long sought the property to convert it into a large town park.
At noon on Monday, the McKinley Mall will be put up for auction. Business First noting an opening bid of $3 million is requested Kohan Retail Investment Group bought the mall in 2021 for $8.5 million.
One more mall related item: in less than six months, a $122.5 million loan taken out by the owner of the Fashion Outlets of Niagara Falls is set to mature. Unless other arrangements are made, that loan comes due October 1st.
Also from Business First - Jewish deli Bloom & Rose has opted out of its announced move to 622 Main Street at Theater Place. Bloom & Rose will stay put at 27 Chandler Street for now.
