It's a flashback to February.
National Weather Service forecasters say a once in a 15 to 20 year pattern for this time of year will provide a rude flashback to early February weather Tuesday, as fairly widespread snow showers will be accompanied by gusty winds that will generate wind chills in the single digits and teens.
"Most areas will pick up a coating, maybe an inch in the hills," NWS meteorologist Bob Hamilton tells WBEN. "Everyone is going to get some light flurries and snow showers today. Absolutely."
The high Tuesday will be right around the freezing mark. Keep in mind the normal high temps for this time of year are low to mid 50's, forecasters say. Highs the remainder of the week won't get out of the 40's.
A Wind Advisory is posted for the norther portion of Western New York through late afternoon Tuesday, Hamilton notes. "Niagara, Orleans, Monroe counties, Finger Lakes, that area will get gusts 40 to 50 mph. The Buffalo area will be close to 40 for the higher gusts."

While not as cold the rest of the week, temperatures will remain firmly below normal with only minimal day to day warming. Unfortunately, it will be unsettled for much of the week, especially Thursday and Friday.
Stay tuned!
