NBA reportedly investigating 76ers for tampering with free agent class, including James Harden

The NBA has reportedly opened a tampering investigation on the 76ers for many of their headline offseason moves, according to ESPN's Adrian Wojnarowski.

Per the report, the investigation is centered around the free agent class that included P.J. Tucker, Danuel House, and James Harden.

Wojnarowski says one of the "central elements" of the investigation will be into Harden's contract after he decided to decline a $47.4 million player option before agreeing to take a pay cut in the form of a two-year, $68 million contract.

The investigation is reportedly already underway with Sixers president Daryl Morey already receiving calls from league attorneys. The NBA has recently enfored stricter penalties for tampering, with the Bulls and Heat each being stripped of second-round picks after it was determined they had contact with Lonzo Ball and Kyle Lowry, respectively, before the allowed date.
