C-Mac doesn't see it being hard to say goodbye to Saquon Barkley: 'This is not an all-time great leaving'

Saquon Barkley is gone, off to the hated Eagles after signing a three-year deal on Monday.

While many Giants fans are devastated that Barkley is joining a rival, C-Mac doesn’t feel any sense of betrayal.

“I honestly don’t care where he goes or what uniform he puts on. It’s about the Giants and moving forward,” C-Mac said. “It’s gonna be so hard to what, get another running back in here that didn’t score a lot of points? It’s not gonna be that hard.

“What did it do for the Giants, having everyone’s attention on Saquon Barkley? What did it open up? How many points did they score? They don’t score points. I’m not trying to make the argument that it’s his fault. But you’re arguing that what he brought to the team was important. It wasn’t.”

Barkley was beloved in New York, but C-Mac says there wasn’t enough winning to make his departure all that crushing.

“This is not an all-time great leaving the Giants,” C-Mac said. “He’s just not. This isn’t someone I’ve seen win for me and built this deep connection with. One, he doesn’t play a lot, and two, he didn’t win.”
