Orchard Park, N.Y. (WGR Sports Radio 550) - Buffalo Bills head coach Sean McDermott announced on Monday that the team will be opening linebacker Matt Milano's 21-day practice window this week.
Milano has been on Injured Reserve all season with a torn biceps suffered in training camp.
McDermott said Milano will not play this coming Sunday against the Kansas City Chiefs, and the team will take it one day and one week at a time as they assess his recovery.
The move means the Bills will have 21 days from the official transaction date to place Milano back on the active roster. If they don't do that, he will remain on Injured Reserve for the rest of the season.
Following the Chiefs game on Sunday, the Bills will have a bye week, followed by a game at home against the San Francisco 49ers on "Sunday Night Football" on Dec. 1.
Also on Monday, McDermott said during his weekly Zoom call with the media that wide receiver Keon Coleman (wrist) will not play against the Chiefs, but that he is improving. He still does not believe Coleman will need to be placed on Injured Reserve.
McDermott added that wide receiver Amari Cooper (wrist) is also improving, and they'll see how the week goes with him.
The same goes for both tight end Dalton Kincaid, who did not finish Sunday's 30-20 win over the Indianapolis Colts with a knee injury, and right tackle Spencer Brown, who suffered an ankle injury during the game but did return to play.
