Pittsford, N.Y. (WGR 550) - While the first three days of Buffalo Bills training camp are already in the books, general manager Brandon Beane knows this is only the beginning for his team, as they embark on their run for a Super Bowl in the 2023 season.
This year's training camp does not feature too many questions with certain roster positions, with the exception of middle linebacker and the CB2 spot opposite Tre'Davious White.

However, there is a focus on how the team will handle the running back position this year with James Cook entering his second season in Buffalo, along with the free agent additions of Damien Harris and Latavius Murray.
Not to mention, the unfortunate news that broke just before training camp with Nyheim Hines set to miss the entire 2023 campaign due to a knee injury suffered in a freak jet ski accident.
Bills general manager Brandon Beane felt towards the end of the last season, Cook started to look more-and-more like an every down running back at the NFL level.
"I think he showed that late in the season as he gained confidence, understood the pro game," said Beane during an appearance on the "Jeremy White Show" on Friday from Bills training camp. "With him back there, he is a three-down back. We see him, he and Damien Harris probably competing right now to start."
While Cook is likely the favorite to earn the starting running back spot in Buffalo going into the regular season, Beane feels him and Harris will serve more so as a 'yin and yang' backfield. He says the back who starts the year may not always be the one that gets the most touches. It may come down to how a specific game is playing out before and during the contest.
It is game plan specific. Sometimes it's in game, what is working, what's not. How the other teams playing you, all those things," Beane explained. "I think those guys offset each other better than maybe what we've had in the past from that standpoint, a little different skill set."
