Orchard Park, N.Y. (WGR 550) - The Buffalo Bills are officially bringing back defensive end Shaq Lawson on a one-year deal.

Lawson was originally drafted by the Bills with the 19th pick in the 2016 NFL Draft out of Clemson University.

After four seasons originally spent in Buffalo, Lawson then signed with the Miami Dolphins in free agency before being traded to the Houston Texans in 2021. He never played a snap in Houston before he was then traded to the New York Jets , where he played in 14 games before being released in January of 2022.

The 28-year-old returned to the Bills in free agency last offseason, and went on to start six games for the team in 2022, recording 31 tackles and 3.5 sacks.

In his 93 career NFL games, 65 of which with the Bills, Lawson has recorded 194 total tackles, 25 sacks, and seven forced fumbles.

Lawson returns to Orchard Park and will, once again, compete for a depth role on the roster with a number of younger names like Boogie Basham, A.J. Epenesa and Kingsley Jonathan.
