(WWJ) A Garden City teen has died in a crash in northern Michigan.
The Cheboygan County Sheriff's Department says 18-year old John Spohr was killed when the SUV he was in was hit by another vehicle along US-23 Tuesday night.
Spohr was riding with Jason Nixon, also 18, of Westland. Police say while he was driving, Nixon lost control of his vehicle and crossed the center line.
Nixon and the driver of the other SUV are hospitalized.
Investigators say it was raining at the time of the crash and speed and lack of tread on the Nixon's SUV tires contributed to the crash.
