DETROIT (WWJ) -- Michigan State Police are investigating an apparent shooting that took place near I-75 and 8 Mile Road Wednesday night.
Police say around 9:20 p.m. they received information that the victim of the shooting had driven himself to the Red Lobster on 12 Mile Road near John R. Road. The victim told responding troopers the shooting occurred in the area of I-75 near 8 Mile Road.
The victim has been taken to a hospital with what appears to be non-life threatening injuries. Police say the victim's vehicle has multiple bullet holes and it appears the victim was struck one time.
State Police later tweeted that the scene of the shooting had been located along northbound I-75 Service Drive and 8 Mile. Authorities tell drivers to expect a police presence and possible lane closures as detectives work the scene.
