DETROIT (WWJ) - One person is dead and another is hospitalized after a home filled with carbon monoxide on Detroit's east side.

The victims were found around 6 p.m. Monday at a home along East Palmer, near I-94 and Chene, by officers who were called for a welfare check. A 47-year-old man was found dead on the floor and a 45-year-old woman was conscious, but unresponsive.

The woman was taken to the hospital and last reported in stable condition.

A source of carbon monoxide remains under investigation, though authorities tell WWJ a generator at the scene appears to have ran out of gas and filled the home with fumes.

The incident remains under investigation.
