**UPDATE - 8/11: A search for a missing man in Northern Michigan came to a tragic conclusion, when he was found dead along a dirt road.

(WWJ) The Michigan State Police Aviation Unit is out Monday morning, as authorities continue their search for a missing man in Northern Michigan
The MSP Gaylord Post is asking for the public's help to find 78-year-old Nelson William Wheaton, of Gaylord.
Wheaton was last seen in Gaylord on Saturday, August 8, between 6 p.m. and 6 p.m. He riding his green Polaris Ranger — a type of UTV — on Beechnut Trail, in the Arrowhead subdivision, police said.
Wheaton was wearing a straw hat, unknown color of short sleeve shirt, and dark colored shorts. He left his phone, wallet, and hearing aids at home, police said.
Wheaton suffers from early stages of dementia, according to police.
Anyone who spots Wheaton or who knows of his whereabouts is asked to call Gaylord Area Regional Dispatch at 989-732-5141.
