(WWJ) The Oakland County Road Commission is begging drivers to slow down and use caution in work zones after a second worker was hit by a car.

The second incident happened yesterday at 12 Mile and Greenfield at the border of Berkley and Southfield after the first killed a 26 year-old young man on I-94 and sent police on a hunt for the driver who fled the scene.

In the 12 Mile situation, the worker is hospitalized in stable condition, officials said, after he was struck by a 78-year-old driver.

The circumstances of the incident haven't been released except that the driver stopped at the scene and the worker is a husband and father.

Meanwhile, the deadly 94 crash led to a manhunt with plenty of tips from the public andthe alleged perpetrator finally turning himself in to police yesterday

"He has the same rights as anybody else, and we're going to go through the process like we would with every person that is facing this type of event, making sure that they're protected and getting the information that we need in order to present it to the prosecutor's office and let them make the best informed decision that they can," Lt. Michael Shaw said of the suspect.
