Man killed, two others injured in shooting on Detroit's west side as police search for suspects

DETROIT (WWJ) – An investigation is underway after a shooting on Detroit’s west side Saturday afternoon left a man dead and two others injured.

Circumstances surrounding the shooting remain unclear, but Detroit police officials tell WWJ it happened just before 4:30 p.m. in the area of W. Chicago and Greenfield.

When officers showed up they found three victims, one who was pronounced dead at the scene. Two others were taken to the hospital. Their conditions were not disclosed.

Authorities have not released the names, ages or hometowns of the victims. No description of the suspect or suspects was given.

While a possible motive in the case remains unclear, Detroit police officials are asking anyone who knows something about it to call the department’s Homicide Unit at 313- 313-596-2260.
